  • The Department of Citizen Security of the Alcorcón City Council installs a new Acoustic Security System (SARF) in the Fairgrounds, a technological tool for prevention and reinforcement of security in places with a large influx of public. This system, together with other novelties for these festivities such as emergency buttons, aims to improve prevention and reinforce security during these dates.
  • The Councillor for Citizen Security, David López, has pointed out that “our objective for these festivities is for all the residents of Alcorcón to enjoy their city with joy and peace of mind. With the new security systems, added to other devices previously put in place, we put technology at the service of prevention to deal with any health or security emergency in the shortest possible time.”

From August 30 to September 9, our city will celebrate its local festivals and one of the most popular centres for local residents is the Fairgrounds. For this reason, the Department of Citizen Security of the Alcorcón City Council is installing a new innovative Acoustic Security System (SARF) in the Fairgrounds, a technological tool for prevention and reinforcement of security in places with a large influx of public.

The Councillor for Citizen Security, David López, has pointed out that “our objective for these festivities is for all the residents of Alcorcón to enjoy their city with joy and peace of mind. With the new security systems, added to other devices previously put in place, we put technology at the service of prevention to deal with any health or security emergency in the shortest possible time.”

The SARF uses the existing sound equipment at events, in this case that of the Fairground, thus creating a large-scale public address system, which increases the security perimeter without altering the normal operation of the venue.

In the event of an emergency, the music is interrupted at a specific time and a voice message is transmitted, which will be played by the equipment in each booth, tent, stand, stage or, if necessary, throughout the entire premises, ensuring transmission of the same regardless of its size or occupancy or the volume or power of the equipment installed there. All controlled, in the case of Alcorcón, by a Municipal Police operation. This system is also intended to ensure a Controlled Evacuation at the request of the police, guaranteeing communication with the assembled public.

It is also possible to send prevention messages, general rules of use and warnings. For example, you can inform the public gathered at the event of the location of emergency exits or alert them to missing children.

In addition, two 'Emergency' buttons will be installed in each booth installed in the Fairgrounds, which will give an immediate warning, differentiating: one of the buttons is to communicate a police alarm; the other to alert of a health alarm. The two signals go to the Security Centre that the Department of Citizen Security of Alcorcón has installed in the fairgrounds. In this way, in the event of an imminent danger situation, the action of the Security Forces is optimized, since they know in advance the nature and location of the incident.

This afternoon, the Councillor for Citizen Security, David López, together with the Chief of Firefighters, members of the Local Police and the company that installs the SARF, will meet with representatives of the 20 booths that are being installed in the Fairgrounds and that belong to different associations of the city and political parties, to inform them of the operation of this new security system.

The SARF joins the various Citizen Security devices that the council sets up in the different parts of the city where local festival events are held, with the largest concentration of people being the fairground (booths, attractions, concerts) where the following measures have been taken: the perimeter of the grounds has been fenced, controlling access to it; there are several devices made up of private security, Municipal Police, National Police (with whom we collaborate closely) and the Municipal Firefighting Service, in addition to the presence of Civil Protection; and there are security cameras throughout the grounds.
