From the PPYJJ area, we work to sustainably maintain, increase and improve our green infrastructure, which has more than 21,000 street trees and 340 ha of green areas.
These improve the quality of the environment, people's health and are a meeting point for neighbours where sporting and cultural activities take place.

Woodland

The management of urban trees includes trees located in streets, green areas and forest parks in the municipality.
There are currently 21,000 trees in streets, 27,000 in parks, to which must be added those in the Las Presillas Forest Park.
Technical and sustainability criteria set the guidelines for its management. The general lines of action are set out in the ALCORCÓN STREET ARBOLAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN.

The green areas of the city are delimited spaces where vegetation can be found, their typology includes gardens, large parks and forest parks.
Apart from their aesthetic value, these areas are necessary to reduce pollution and provide recreation for the population.
The council is committed to sustainable maintenance, with policies to save water consumption and increase biodiversity.

Activities

Urban green areas are public open spaces, suitable for cultural, educational and leisure activities.
We would like to highlight their interest for the organisation of training days aimed at students from training centres.

Notifications Incidences and Requests

Our council would like to thank the public for their collaboration in the surveillance and conservation of our heritage.
Through this link you can report any incidents you observe in our green areas, such as trees that cause damage, furniture in danger. You can also request urban equipment to be taken into account in future actions.
In the communications it is advisable to clearly include the location of the incident and if possible include photographs.

Any drastic, indiscriminate pruning or felling intervention must be authorised by the Department of Parks, Gardens and Animal Protection following the following established guidelines:

  • Application for drastic pruning intervention: Make the application in writing, registered in the general register of Alcorcón town hall, addressed to the department of parks, gardens and animal protection, stating the location, species and providing graphic documentation (photos) and situation on a map (if possible). It will be necessary to provide the personal details required in the application form for communication purposes.
  • Felling application: A felling authorisation application will be made when this is the only viable alternative, and will be requested in writing addressed to the department of parks, gardens and animal protection through the general register of Alcorcón town hall, explaining the reason for the felling, and providing graphic documentation (photos and location on a map). It will be necessary to provide the personal details required in the application form for communication purposes, which must coincide with the owners of the area where the specimen/s to be authorised are located.

In a felling procedure, according to Law 8/2005, of 26 December, on the protection and promotion of urban trees in the Community of Madrid, article 2.3 establishes that in those cases in which felling is the last viable alternative, the planting of an adult specimen of the same species for each year of the tree removed will be required, in the manner established, for each year of the tree removed.
