In Alcorcón we implement technological innovation projects and proposals in all areas and in a global manner, with the following blocks of action being implemented.

Data governance

• Through the data desk, existing data is being structured and cleaned to make it more reliable and turn it into useful information. In addition, key regulations and procedures are being established for the collection of new data, as well as its processing.
• The main objective of data governance is the search for efficiency, as well as establishing a basis for policies and programs to be supported by real data.
• For the use of Artificial Intelligence to have a real impact, the working basis must be structured, clean and reliable data.

Cybersecurity

• Constant updating of hardware and software to meet security criteria and avoid breaches
• National Security Scheme Certification
• Internal cybersecurity policy and awareness among municipal staff

Alcorcon boosts

• Development of technological and innovation hackathons
• Training of the entrepreneurial and business ecosystem of Alcorcón in cutting-edge technologies and new tools through IMEPE programs
• Solving challenges together by promoting open innovation between companies, citizens, administrations, universities and research centres

Smart City

• Digital citizen participation bringing municipal decisions closer to citizens
• Digital twin for the simulation of new actions, especially urban or maintenance, in the municipality and impact assessment
• Mobile application for citizens
• Integrated control of the city and its systems using sensors (irrigation, lights, traffic lights, garbage collection, facilities, reservations, entrances, etc.)

RECI

Currently, the Alcorcón City Council, through its Mayor, Candelaria Testa, holds the vice-presidency of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI), thus emphasizing Alcorcón's commitment to innovation and its incorporation into all decisions and projects in a transversal and long-term manner.

This allows us to have a national vision of the programs and projects of the different municipalities, while making us participants in decision-making regarding technological objectives.
